BC4EU letter to Commissioner McGuinness

On 12 October, Blockchain for Europe (BC4EU) sent a letter to Commissioner for Financial services, financial stability and Capital Markets Union, Mairead McGuinness, to congratulate her on her recent appointment.

The letter presents BC4EU’s vision for blockchain technology and the opportunities it presents for European innovation. BC4EU supports technology neutral regulation that focuses on the essential nature of the item and not the blockchain platform on which it exists.

We have encouraged such technology neutral thinking for the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) proposal – and we look forward to collaborating with the Commission as the Regulation continues its consultation process in the coming weeks and months.
